I am skating in this year's 11 Day Power Play Community Shift.  Thank you to Bill Shaflucas for the invite and opportunity to raise funds to help the fight against cancer.  Also, thank you to Keller Technology Corporation for sponsoring our team.  While this year's event won't be as grueling as it was for the team's that played for 11 days last year, it will still be quite a task to get back into good enough shape to play hockey for 4 hours straight.  It's time to realize that we can't rely on only those currently impacted by this brutal disease to fight.  We can all do our part in many different ways to join in and win the battle!  I'm honored to lace up the skates and play in my first official hockey game in almost 20 years in memory of my mother Anita, my mother in law Sue and my uncle Mike who have all lost their fight to this deadly disease.  Now I need an assist from you...Please help me achieve my goal by donating to the cause.  Your tax deductible donations will all stay here locally  in Buffalo, benefiting Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Camp Good Days and Make A Wish of WNY. 

This summer, more than 1,700 pairs of skates will hit the ice to play in the 2018 11 Day Power Play Community Shift to help in the fight against cancer! The 11-day game will be played in continuous, four-hour shifts at HarborCenter in Buffalo, New York. Each shift will feature two new teams. The purpose of this important event is to raise critically-needed funds for important local cancer causes, including: cutting-edge cancer research and wellness programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; supporting programs that improve quality of life for children, adults and families affected by cancer through Camp Good Days; and, granting wishes and amazing experiences to kids with life-threatening illnesses, including cancer, by Make-A-Wish Western New York. Although it may be physically challenging for our players to play four continuous hours of hockey, it will be a walk in the park compared to what some people have to endure in their battle against cancer. Cancer is a disease that touches everyone, and The 11 Day Power Play wants to make a difference, a big difference.
